The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is accepting Kindergarten registrations for September 2023.

Registering your child for Kindergarten is an important milestone. The Kindergarten program in our schools recognizes the uniqueness of each child and supports learners to reach the fullness of their potential. The learning is rooted in faith and grounded in the understanding that every child is capable, competent, and loved by God.

To enrol in Year 1 of Kindergarten children must be four years old by December 31 of the school year in which they begin.

French Immersion Kindergarten Registration

Registering for Kindergarten Year 2 (SK) French Immersion:
• Determine your child's French Immersion boundary school by inputting your address into the "School locator" link
• Call the French Immersion school allocated to your boundary, inform them what school your child is currently attending and that you wish to have your child enrolled at the French Immersion school for the upcoming SK/Year 2.

Registration for Kindergarten looking for Year 1 French Immersion:
(Please note that our French Immersion program does not officially begin until Kindergarten Year 2, and we cannot guarantee a spot in French Immersion in Year 1. Year 1 admission is based on our current policy:
• Determine your child's Regular Track (not French Immersion) Home School by inputting your address into the "School locator" link
• Go back to the HWCDSB website home page and under "Schools" select your child's Home School.
• Click "Registration" and follow the steps outlined in order.
• In the notes section on the registration form, indicate your interest in attending the French Immersion boundary school and name the school.
• Call that French Immersion school, tell them you are registered for Kindergarten Year 1 at your home school and would like to be put on the wait list for Kindergarten Year 1 at the French Immersion school.
• You will be notified if they are able to admit your registration between the end of June and September.
